I have worked with Vitamix blenders, and despise them. It is completely subjective, though. Some people will like them. Others won't. It's the same with most things. I work on electronics professionally (including blenders), however, and do recognize the shortcomings of Bledtec's older jar. It has, however been updated, and lasts quite a long time now. I recognize shortcomings of Vitamix's blade, also. Vitamix just does not blend near as well, in my opinion. Also, having worked with support from both companies, I find Blendtec's support to be much better. Again, it's a completely subjective matter. I have just used both quite extensively, and know how important it is for people to see both sides of any story. As I work with them professionally, I felt it would be relevant to some people.
