I purchased this table shortly after this post (though I didn't see your post until after the purchase) because my husband had saw it the previous day and told me about it. I have to say that I am on the fence about taking it back. It was fairly easy to put together, although our umbrella is missing the peg on the chain to keep it open. When it's all put together, it looks really cute and my kids love it. But, as mom, I was disappointed with the overall size and the weight of the wood. When I picked it up at Costco, I had expected the box to be bigger (there was no table on display at the time), and I should've taken that as a first sign. But, I went ahead and bought it because the box says it's for 4-10 year olds. With that in mind, I thought it should be ok for my 3-yr old and 5-yr old sons plus 2 friends of similar age. While putting it together I noticed that the manual recommends not exceeding 100 lbs. What? 100 lbs?!?!? My 2 sons weigh 36lb & 50lb, so that leaves less than 14lbs left for a friend? I really don't see how they could label it for 4-10 year olds and expect only 1 or 2 children to sit at the table. Any one else have this set at your house? What are your thoughts?
