Great to hear you're now free of Comcast's modem rental fee! Just make sure to keep the receipt for your modem return to Comcast as well as the receipt for your purchase of this new modem. We bought our modem from Best Buy years ago so we've owned it from day one. Yet just a few months ago, out of the blue, we received a letter from Comcast stating that they were going to start charging us for modem rental. Of course we called Customer Service to dispute this matter. They investigated and we "won". So best to keep your receipts for backup. You don't want them accusing you of not returning their modem down the road.
