Sure, you can fry or saute in this pot like you would in a skillet but it's deeper and heavier than a regular skillet so you can't easily toss or flip your food. The enameled cast iron pots are great for braising, stewing, roasting, etc. as they retain heat very well.
We no longer see this pot in the store. They generally appear at the end of the year around Sept/Oct...
