hi Hinda39,
Sorry to hear about your experience. When you said it ripped, which part was it? Sides, bottom or the hydration reservoir itself? We bought one last year and have used it many times over the past year when hiking. We removed the hydration reservoir though as we prefer to carry water bottles. I feel this backpack was made for recreational hiking only. We only carry a jacket, hat, energy bars, water bottles, etc. in ours, probably no more than a few pounds. If your husband is going on a huge hike to the Himalayas, I assume he will have to carry much more stuff and need a heavy-duty backpack which I don't think this was made for. A store like REI will have a backpack made for those activities.
Regards,
Olli
