Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just to clarify, you can buy 3 lbs of salmon from Walmart for $7.50 which means $2.50/lb? That's not a possibility here in the SF Bay Area. For salmon, it's generally $8.99 or $9.99/lb or higher and that's true at most of the grocery stores e.g. Safeway, Lucky, Whole Foods, Costco, etc. You may be able to find it cheaper at some of the Asian grocery stores. I don't know about Walmart though. The Kirkland salmon with the rebate is $6.663/lb so it is a ~25% savings. Plus there's the convenience of having them individually wrapped and portion-sized, which may be attractive to some.
