The umbrella comes with a cover and rod assembly. Use the rod assembly to drape this over the long arm... then push the umbrella up into the curve of the arm and zip it down. I love it. My wife thinks it's too big of a banana shape and only lets me use the cover for the winter. However, if you leave it hanging you can rotate it out of the way and secure the position with the rotating nut that locks it in whatever position you like... hope this helps.
