This lamp has a nice appearance and the price is great, however it suffers from what I believe to be a major design flaw that ignores the reality of using this lamp outdoors. The light is completely open on the bottom of the cylindrical glass. This fixture will eventually be filled with dead insects, moths, spiders and atmospheric dirt that will deposit itself on the interior of the glass over time. This could be avoided by capping the bottom or at the very least sealing the bottom with a fine nylon mesh to stop bugs that would be drawn to it's illumination.
