There's normally a receptionist for the Optical Department so you can definitely stop by and ask them for more details regarding pricing. I think you can also call your Costco store and be transferred to the Optical Department, which might save you a trip. I did get my eyes checked previously and thought the optometrist was thorough and professional. Since every store has a different optometrist, it may be easier to just stop by and chat with the optometrist if he/she is available. You can then get a feel what he/she is like before making the appointment.
